Yesterday we conquered Wales. Mostly the Cardiff part and to be honest we didn't even see the castle. I feel a bit sorry for Steve but if course I've seen it and visited it many times before. I used to live in the UK (2003 - 2008) so pretty much covered every stretch of land that had a comedy club nearby.
The audience was fantastic last night and the sound of laughter and cheers bounced back at us easily, giving us the strength to rebound with further mirth and impromptu tangents. My old lady pushing the stroller returned, now firmly cemented in the show feeding her grandchild biscuit crumbs from her right hip pocket. Why am I telling you this? Well, for starters it's funny to me, that if you haven't seen the show yet, none of this will make any sense and secondly, if you have, I'll know you'll keep your mouth shut and you won't give any of my little gems or plot points away! (You’ve been warned) Actually, just on that note, and here's one for some of you hard core fans (you know who you are), if you plan on coming to my show more than once please don't sit up the front each time. This show is for everyone to see and for everyone to get a chance (usually only one chance $$) to be part of this unique experience. I'd appreciate it if you'd spread the love by spreading your self out in the crowd. Let's all mingle to enhance the tingle!
Tonight we're in Portsmouth!!!
Don't worry, I am going to be seeing you from various distances because whilst the front is fun, it's not within my budget. So far I recommend the last row of the stalls - you can still see everything but also hear the ushers/staff giggling in the aisles.
You absolutely smashed it last night! The laughter headache I went home with attests to that. Enjoyed Steve's set, too, as well as seeing the ever-loveable Bill Napier. My sister, who is not yet a full-blown Darby aficionado (it's my on-going project to make her one), joined me last night and had a brilliant night, too.
I'm looking forward to seeing it again in Bristol, albeit from a bit further back.
