I’m going through my photos to remember where we went next. Ahh yes, after Canberra we went back to Sydney. There we would remain for six days as a base whilst leaping off to places like Newcastle and Wollongong. We drove to Newcastle the next day, which was roughly a two-hour journey, but when I say roughly, I’m not necessarily talking about the time, oh no, in this case it was the weather. It absolutely pissed down (as we say back home) with rain, and we were on the motorway travelling at some speed! I’d never seen so much water (and I’m from Atlantis.) (BTW you’ll see the gushing as part of the video montage I intend to post.) It honestly felt like we were driving fast through a river that was landing on top of us. The Aussies were clearly quite used to it because we even got passed by a truck at some point. Steve and I looked at each other in the back seat as if to say, ‘Is this how we die?’
